Unity Gospel Radio SPREADING THE GOSPEL WORLDWIDE
Hartford, CT — September 9, 2025
The Unity Gospel Radio & WebTv joins the gospel community in mourning the loss of a beloved voice and servant leader, Dr. Delroy Lingo, affectionately known as Delingo. Dr. Lingo passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, surrounded by his wife and close friends.
Dr. Lingo was a distinguished radio personality, gospel artist, author, and community advocate, whose life was marked by unwavering faith and a passion for uplifting others through music and media.
Inspired by his brother Erol Lingo, leadman of the reggae group Natural High, Dr. Lingo began his musical journey in his youth, singing in church choirs and later recording with gospel bands. His love for praise and worship led him into radio broadcasting in the early 1990s, where he became a trusted voice and mentor. He also served as road manager for the Golden Touch Gospel Band before founding Impact Gospel Promotion, a platform that championed gospel artists and ministries across the diaspora.
On December 4, 2021, Dr. Lingo received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award—also known as the President’s Call to Service Award—from Heart Bible Institute University, where he earned his Doctor of Theology. The award recognized over two decades of volunteerism and service to the Caribbean community in Hartford and beyond.
“I did not envision myself receiving this award because when I serve, I make sure that it is from the heart and it is for the right reason, which is purely to serve God’s people,” Dr. Lingo said at the time.
Dr. Lingo’s impact extended far beyond the microphone. As an author, mentor, and spiritual leader, he poured wisdom into others, always pointing them toward purpose and truth. His voice resonated in homes, churches, and communities—bringing comfort, conviction, and celebration.
He leaves behind a legacy of humility, excellence, and devotion to God’s call. His life was a melody of service, and his influence will continue to echo through the lives he touched.
